In 2024, team u3a will be running in the Great North Run, the largest half-marathon event in the world.
The Great North Run is the largest half-marathon event in the world, with 60,000 runners taking part each year. Starting in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the route crosses the Tyne bridge, passes through Gateshead before finishing in South Shields. The event is taking place on 8 September 2024.
For the first time ever, a u3a team of five runners will be taking part, to raise money for the Third Age Trust.
By running the Great North Run in support of The Third Age Trust, you will be helping to keep the u3a movement thriving for years to come - helping new generations of adults find their u3a community.
If you are interested in running and fundraising to raise £350 for the Third Age Trust, we would love to hear from you. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
