Rename yourself on zoom clearly with your first name and perhaps last initial. You can also include your u3a name or location.
To do this, hover over your own video and click the three dots in the right hand corner. Then click ‘rename’. Alternatively you can view the participants list, hover over your name, click the three dots and rename that way.
Mute your microphone when you are not speaking, whilst being mindful of background noises when you are speaking. It is best to join meetings in private spaces, rather than in public places.
Dress appropriately for a zoom call – imagine you were at an in-person meeting.
Choose an appropriate background (or use a virtual one).
Drinking on a Zoom call is appropriate, however eating is at members’ discretion. Eating should be avoided if distracting.
Do not join a Zoom call whilst driving.
Do not join a Zoom call whilst walking or moving about if you have your video on. This can be distracting for other members.
Attendance at Meetings
If you join a group, endeavour to attend as many of the regular meetings as you can. If you cannot attend an upcoming meeting, it is courteous to let the group leader know before-hand.
If you do not attend three group meetings in a row, please remove yourself from the group via Beacon. Read instructions on how to leave a group. If you do not do this yourself, the group leader can remove you without warning.
