Looking beyond oneself and our tiny world…..

A 2020 lockdown planet art challenge. Acrylics on cardboard with heavy toothbrush splatters. More went on the carpet.

I have two inspirations for this picture. The first is the photo taken on the Apollo 8 mission in 1968, of the Earth rising above the lunar landscape. The second is rather closer to home, the geodesic Biome domes at the Eden Project in Cornwall. Together, they give my interpretation of a lunar base in the not-so-distant future.

I created this Space interpretation using a piece of wet felting, made in a u3a craft group. The colours of the cosmos covered with cogs and strange shaped beads represent alien planets and civilisations.

I recently attended an art class where we experimented with ink & pastels, I like the soft muted tones that we achieved & would not have thought about combining them otherwise.

I did this abstract acrylic with 2 others for my newly decorated bedroom. It reminded me of gas nebula in space

This is my multimedia, abstract effort for space.

Inspired by a visit to the Lovell Radio telescope set in the peaceful surroundings of rural Cheshire.

Overwhelmed by the expanse of sea.

Space is so important to us all, whatever we do in our lives. Painting allows you to be immersed in the subject and supports your creativity and observational skills. Dancing allows you to be expressive, interacting with space of the performing area.
