Longer Intro from our Editor Helen

What a feast for our eyes the coronation gave us, together with a mountain of thought-provoking questions. No doubt the IGO Discussion and Current Affairs Groups will be including some of these themes in forth coming meetings - not least of which is the question of the role of the Church of England and the Monarchy in the UK’s diverse and multicultural population.

On a lighter note the Read Write Discuss group are looking forward to our June meeting when we are thinking about  ‘The Family Saga’ – our choices no doubt will be many and varied-  my choice so far is a film, Homeward, the story is about a family trying to get back to their Crimean homelands to bury a family member who died in the Russian Ukraine war - bleak but very moving.

Talking of feasts for our eyes my garden is currently full of blossom, blue bells and forget-me-nots but we’re looking forward to flaming June too and our collection of Red Roses depicting the month.

We’d love to receive any of your photos from your gardens illustrating the coming of summer for a future edition of News Extra - so please do get in touch.
