Interest Groups Online Noticeboard

Meet new Interest Groups Online member Jean

Jean joined Interest Groups Online following the IGO Fair in October.

Since attending the Interest Groups Online Fair, I have joined some groups: Mindfulness and Poetry which is excellent with a good speaker; Quizoomers which I enjoy a lot and like the format of it, organised so well by Phil. I would have joined a couple of others too, but they clash with my local u3a in person meetings. I will be putting my name down for the ‘All About Whiskey’ group  - mmmh - and the technology group too. I’m not scientific but want to expand my knowledge. I’ll warn the leader I got a score of 3 in one physics exam I took at school and that was for my name and form! Thank you and others for all the work you do for our benefit.

Meet new Interest Groups Online member Linda

Linda has joined a few Interest Groups Online groups alongside her local u3a membership.

I joined Spanish and The Jane Austen Book group. I also put my name down for Laughter Yoga but sadly have not been able to join the group yet because of demands on my time.

It's great to feel like I'm learning a subject but I'm having fun at the same time. When I'm not on the zoom for the subject, I'm researching in preparation for the next session which keeps me busy.

I've purchased a book for Spanish and a Jane Austen book for the book group, both second hand.

The group leaders are available to answer any questions that might arise and they provide all the information needed to attend the zoom sessions in a well explained email timed to be sent before the session starts.

I would thoroughly recommend online learning with IGO and I do promote it within my own u3a group when I can.
