Recording an IGO Zoom Meeting

  1. Please tell all your group members via Beacon email that you intend to record the meeting and to let you know if they don’t want to be recorded. You will also need to tell them where the recording will be made available. This should be in the standard text which you use to send out the link. If someone replies to say that they do not give permission, then either don’t record the meeting, or edit this person out of the recording.
  2. Make sure the content of your meeting is not protected by copyright and that you have given correct attributions where necessary.
  3. Please record to computer – this will just put one recording onto your own computer and means that the video is therefore contained. Only the host (Group Leader) should record the meeting.
  4. Please add the recording to an unlisted Youtube playlist. This means that it will only be accessible to anyone with the link. This is also protection for you as it is less likely that you will encounter issues with copyright of any images etc.
  5. If you have any videos or music within your recording, you will need to edit these out – you will not have permission to record them, and your video will not be accepted by Youtube. You can supply links to these instead (on Padlet).
  6. You can then either send the link to the video directly to the group via Beacon, or post the Youtube link onto a group Padlet to share with your members. You can play this inside the Padlet which is a nice feature.
  7. Make sure that your members know not to share the link to the Padlet or the video outside of the group.
