This rare and beautiful butterfly is found on the North Downs near Dorking. Here it is feeding on Birds Foot Trefoil.

A shot of Brighton Beach with just some empty deckchairs and the burnt out pier in the distance. I was attracted by the arrangement of the deckchairs and the feeling of solitude. I am always inspired by the seaside.

Always on the lookout for photos, I was wandering down to Old Leigh hoping for some (not so) Little Egret and (much smaller) Sanderling when I was aware of some loud, sustained birdsong. Looking around I spotted this Dunnock, singing its heart out. Sadly, I had forgotten my secateurs!

Bonnet, buttons and bow

Although I am a beginner and only have a phone camera, I had a bee in my bonnet that I could do something with a bonnet, buttons and bow. After a glass of wine I will probably add baubles, bangles and beads, so I am submitting this before I do 🤣

A blue waxbill and red billed queleas having a splash about. Photo taken on a game reserve in South Africa. It’s not all about the big five, many of the smaller animals and birds can be just as exciting to watch!

Taken at the beginning of January. The first B is B for Berries - winter feed for B for Birds. This handsome B for Bullfinch is taking advantage of the crop. But mainly this image is about B for BEGINNING. A New Year with new berries, new experiences and new opportunities for everyone.

On a bitterly cold day walking through Old Leigh, Essex, the sun suddenly broke through the heavy clouds, creating unusual & dramatic lighting of the boats, clouds and the sea.

Boats in the Mist

On a very early sunny Autumn morning we travelled to Rutland Waters where the mist was steaming off the water. I was lucky enough to get some great shots of the boats in the mist. We were there for a couple of hours as there's lots of photo opportunities.
