ORMSKIRK Travel Poster
This Poster of ORMSKIRK, is composed of six of my photographs, that I processed and colourised to put together as proud symbols of my local Market Town of Ormskirk - in the style of Railway Posters of the past. It includes the Station, which connects us to Liverpool and Preston; the Clocktower (1876); The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, which dates back to Saxon times, with a 15th cent Steeple, (the tower was added around 1548 to house the bells from Burscough Priory following the dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536) Edge Hill University is represented by its Crest as the Moon, and finally Ormskirk Gingerbread is represented by the Gingerbread man in the bottom right corner. Production of Ormskirk Gingerbread was recently shown on “The Hairy Bikers” TV Food programme.
