The aim of ‘Find a u3a Speaker’ is to facilitate contact and connection across the u3a movement by providing a platform for speakers to share their talks with other u3a's, either online or in-person.
This is for u3a members only.
For members contacting speakers
Speakers must only be contacted in relation to hosting their talk listed on the u3a website.
These speakers are to be contacted by u3a members only, and the talks must be presented to u3a groups only.
You do not have to be a group leader to use ‘Find a u3a Speaker’. Any u3a member can access this.
This activity is offered in the spirit of members learning from members, and the Third Age Trust has not vetted any of the talks offered.
u3a members must not share the speaker’s details with any other u3a’s or organisations who are not part of ‘Find a u3a Speaker’. For example, if a neighbouring u3a asks for a speaker recommendation, they should be directed to the ‘Find a u3a Speaker’ webpage, not the speaker directly.
Rules for Speakers
Speakers submitting talks must be u3a members.
Speakers may give their talks to other audiences, but only talks to u3a groups should be arranged through this service.
No u3a member may receive any payment for giving a talk to another u3a as part of ‘Find a u3a Speaker’.
The talks offered must not be used to promote any commercial offering, such as a book, service or organisation.
If the talk is in-person, travel expenses only are to be negotiated by the u3a and the speaker directly.
Getting in Contact with the Speaker
Once you have filled out the contact form, your message and email address will be shared with the speaker. They should get back to you within 5 working days.
