Welcome

Welcome to our u3a Virtual Visits – a place where members can record and share their most interesting trips and discoveries with the wider u3a community.
Whether you've explored a hidden garden, wandered through a museum or admired artwork in a gallery, we’d love to hear about it!

About Virtual Visits

This Learning Activity invites u3a members to create a short visual and written record of a visit they’ve enjoyed. These submissions will be used to:

  • Inspire other members or interest groups to visit new places
  • Create a growing gallery of real-life recommendations especially of less well-known locations.
  • Provide slides and stories that can be shared in meetings or talksby members both online and in local u3as.

What to submit

Each contribution should include:

  • A short introductory paragraph about the place visited – what it is, where it is, and why it was interesting.
  • 5 to 8 photographs, taken by u3a members during the visit.
  • A caption for each photo, describing what it shows and why it’s worth sharing.

You can include your own personal responses to each object.

  • Before taking photographs, please check with the venue that photography is permitted, especially in museums or galleries. We will seek permission from museums and galleries before slides are uploaded and will need to ensure that they are in agreement for the slides to be available.
  • Please make sure that the photographs you submit are taken by you. Photos found online cannot be accepted.
  • We will only be able to include artworks that are in the public domain. If an artist died after 1955 or is still living, their works will be copyrighted and therefore we will not be able to use those images.
  • Please ensure that all submitted images focus on places, exhibits, or scenery, and do not include identifiable people, even in the background.
  • Please make sure that your images are of good quality- photos that are not clear may not be able to be made into a slide set.

How to submit

Use the form below to submit your photographs and text.

  • Make sure that you have all your text ready in advance to copy and paste into the form so that you don’t risk losing your work.
  • The slide sets take a little while to make so please be patient with the u3a Learning Team while we create your slides.
  • Once created, we will send them on for you to check and then add them to the gallery.
