If you use a silicone liner this protects the basket or drawer. However if the manufacturer tells you not to use metal please follow their instructions. Yes, metal tins are fine in my experience.

I do, you need a particular airfryer recipe. There are some in my book.
You need a 13cm gap all-round the air fryer but it can be under a kitchen cupboard.
You don’t need to stand it on anything as it is on its own little legs which elevate it from the worktop.
Yes, this is sort of correct. You get used to the appliance by trial and error and use your own discretion.
This is covered in my book but I have a friend who uses a special toothbrush for getting in behind the element. You could make a paste of baking soda and warm water, leave for an hour, before rinsing well with a warm cloth.
It’s just like using an ordinary oven, You can do it with care and discretion. Beverley uses them all the time without any problem and she hopes you will be OK as well.
Put about 1/4 inch boiling water into drawer. Add veg to basket. Spread out as much as possible. Air fry at 200C for about 10 minutes, shaking after 5 minutes
