About the adviser

I am the Craft Subject Adviser for the u3a and have set up a Craft u3a Facebook group.  My local u3a group here in North Wales is Ruthin and District. Like a lot of the national u3a's, we have many diverse groups and lots of fun people willing to get out and about and learn more.

I love all forms of craft and our group often ask for a craft I’ve not tried before, but thanks to YouTube, each other, and craft magazines, we work things out. Those who come to the group also have their own specialities and share with the rest.

I would like all u3as to have a craft group because it is a fun and therapeutic way of meeting and sharing with others. There are few right and wrong ways with craft - granted there are some basic rules, especially with craft knives and die cutting machines, but let your imagination have free rein and try. And for those of you who do not have your own local crafting group, let the Facebook Craft u3a be your group. Ask questions, answer questions, show us your makes. Everyone has something they are good at.
