The image was taken in December last year in Sutton Park, reputed to be one of the largest urban parks in Europe, where we walk frequently. We had walked along the same path very recently and there had been no sign of any fungi for several weeks and the last thing we expected to see on that day was another Fly Agaric. However, this one had grown, seemingly overnight, to surprise us on a bitterly cold morning. Two days later it had disappeared; I wonder when we shall see the next one?

I thought this showed the first stages of growth of Sycamore. I was lucky enough to find all these growing in different stages in just one place. It was taken on my mobile phone on a light box and also edited on the phone.
