This Triptych includes photos of the Apple Technology logo, the Apple Recording label and an Apple! I was inspired by your theme this month, to create something a bit different, and enjoyed putting it together.

Ammonite

This caught my eye while looking round the house for objects beginning with A. It is a cut and polished ammonite, taken with a macro lens and underexposed to bring out the colour.

The Archway

A nicely decorated archway which leads into a little courtyard in the beautiful and ancient town of St Andrews. We love to visit here and enjoy exploring all the hidden gems like this archway and its gate.

Art Deco Abounds

The Courtauld family lived in Art Deco splendour at Eltham Palace, every room is glorious. The relatively modern house is attached to a medieval Great Hall, once home to Henry V111.

Ancient and less ancient

La Hougue Bie - The Mound is and Passage Grave is some 6,000 years old whilst the Chapel of Notre Dame de la Clarte atop was built in the 12th century; taken whilst on holiday in Jersey - a fascinating place to visit.

Anchor at Reykjavik Harbour

Was the anchor there to remind us of the dangerous seas off the Reykjavik coast? Its weather can certainly be unforgiving in its harshness: dark winters, fierce storms, treacherous snow. This Spring day gave us radiant blue skies, highlighting the rusty red anchor against the harbour lighthouse.

Aberlady Bay in January sunshine

This photograph was taken in January 2023 at 1pm. It was a lovely bright day, the sun was already beginning to lower. The shadows were wonderful, creating strange shapes on the sand.

Captain Scott Memorial

This artwork is in Cardiff Bay, from where the Terranova set sail in 1910. The artist, Jonathon Williams, gave it the title 'Antarctic 100', hence its submission for this theme. The angle of view, which hides the face, is as a result of our Photography Group (Morning) having the exercise of taking photos from ground level.

Artrutx Lighthouse

I was on holiday in Menorca and the juxtaposition of the basket of bright pink gypsophila against the white lighthouse caught my eye. Taking the photo involved some crawling on the floor underneath a table but I felt it was worth it.
